Funding Journalism, Why Should I Care? – How Independent Media Strengthens Philanthropy’s Impact

The Journalism Funders Forum will host its yearly gathering on 15 March in Amsterdam, a mix of plenary sessions and roundtables facilitated by members of the Steering Committee.

Do you feel your work on climate or equality suffers from misinformation, a lack of quality reporting or insufficient accountability? Have you have been funding journalism indirectly or as a spinoff of your core activities? Is safeguarding independent media your foundation’s main goal?

Whether you are an experienced journalism funder, an occasional one, or a newly interested, we want to explore with you what it means to fund journalism, what your barriers and successes are, what recent evolutions deserve attention, and how we can fund media responsibly.

Join the Journalism Funders Forum at our annual gathering on 15 March in Amsterdam, for a day of open conversations with foundations that support journalism.

Our closed-door gathering will offer a mix of plenary sessions, roundtable conversations facilitated by the members of the JFF steering committee, and opportunities to informally connect with your funding peers. Please note that this event is for foundations only.
